NU Set For Home-And-Home With No. 9/8 BU

BOSTON, Mass. — The Northeastern men's hockey team continues conference play this weekend with a home-and-home series against the No. 9/8 Boston University Terriers. The Huskies will head down the road to Agganis Arena on Friday (Feb. 21) at 7 p.m. before hosting the Terriers on Saturday (Feb. 2) for a 7:00 p.m. puck drop.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
  1. FAMILIAR FOE: During the 2023-24 season, the Huskies and Terriers met four times, collecting a 2-2 record, including three overtime contests with an overall score differential of 14-13 with BU leading the way. Through the four games, Northeastern was led by former captain Justin Hryckowian with six total points (4g, 2a). Among the top four scorers against BU was rookie Dylan Hryckowian who added four assists for 1.0 points per game.
  2. JO-CO HOCKEY: Rookie Joe Connor helped NU to a 2-0 win over No. 13 UMass Lowell, tallying the game winner in the opening six minutes of the contest before adding his second on a penalty shot just 2:19 into the middle frame. The New Hampshire native has tallied eight points (3g, 5a) in his last eight outings for a point per game. Connor is the first Husky to take a penalty shot since Alex Campbell on Feb. 23, 2024, at Maine and is the first NU skater to score a penalty shot goal since Jan. 9, 2012, by Grant Jozefek against Merrimack.
  3. ON THE KILL: As the team continues through conference play, the Huskies look to continue their strong defensive efforts on the penalty kill. Through 18 Hockey East matchups, NU has killed off 40/51 penalties for 78.4% kill. Of those 18 games, the Huskies have recorded 11 perfect games on the kill, stopping 25/25 penalties.
