Huskies Take On Harvard Crimson Elite, Scarlet And White Invitational

BOSTON — The Northeastern men's and women's track and field teams are back on familiar ground this weekend as they travel to Harvard and Boston University for the second straight weekend. The Huskies start the weekend with the first day of the Harvard Crimson Elite on Friday, February 7, at 10 a.m. before returning for the second day of competition on Saturday, February 8. Northeastern will also compete at the Scarlet and White Invitational on Saturday, starting at 11 a.m. from the BU Track and Tennis Center. The meet at Harvard is available to stream on ESPN+, and Boston University's will be covered on FloTrack.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW:

1. WE'RE NOT SURPRISED AT THIS POINT – The Northeastern All-Time Performance list saw a few new additions after this weekend. Notably, senior Benjamin Godish collected his second program record of the indoor season after running a 13:53.03 in the 3000m at the John Thomas Terrier Classic. Breaking the record by .16 seconds, he finished 46th out of 129 runners. Graduate student Savion Thompson opened his indoor season in style at the Harvard Invitational, finishing as runner-up in the men's 60m hurdles. He ran an 8.05 in the race, marking the seventh fastest time in program history. Sophomore Camryn Cole was the last Husky to edge her name into the All-Time Performance List, taking third place in the long jump with a leap of 5.74m. That mark landed her with the ninth-best jump in program history.

2. ALL HUSKIES LAST TIME OUT — Several athletes performed strongly at last year's Crimson Elite and Scarlet and White Invite. Graduate student Hope Belvit reached a mark of 18.42m in the weight throw at Gordon Indoor Track to put herself fifth on the All-Time Performance list, while graduate students Ava Duggan and Azza Borovicka-Swanson broke school records at the BU Track and Tennis Center. Duggan finished fourth, running a 4:38.87 in the mile to become the record holder, while Borovicka-Swanson recorded the fastest 3000m in program history, finishing in 9:27.20. That record still holds on the All-Time Performance List to this day.

3. SECOND WEEK RANKINGS – The USTFCCCA's week two rankings saw slight movement for the Huskies. The women's team remains competitive in the Northeast Region and in the CAA, ranking 14th in the Northeast and first in the CAA. On the men's side, the Huskies rank 11th in the Northeast Region and third in the CAA.
