HONOLULU, Hawaii – In game one of their four-game set, the Northeastern Huskies (3-3) fell to the Hawai'i Rainbow Warriors (8-1) by a score of 11-5 on Friday evening at Les Murakami Stadium.
- For the first time this season, Northeastern let up the first run of the ballgame, on a bases-loaded balk in the second inning to give the 'Bows a 1-0 lead.
- Hawaii added two more in the third and fourth on RBI singles to lead 3-0.
- Northeastern answered back in the fourth on a double down the right field line by Ryan Gerety, scoring Gregory Bozzo and Jack Doyle to make it a one-run game.
- The Rainbows responded to NU's two in the fourth with four of their own to take a hefty 7-2 lead.
- After Ryan Griffin and the Husky defense put up a zero in the bottom of the sixth, Harrison Feinberg hit a booming shot to center field to cut back into the Hawaii lead. He scored Bozzo, who led off the inning with a walk.
- Hawai'i responded with three more runs in the bottom of the frame on an RBI single and dropped infield fly, leading 10-4.
- Feinberg tallied another RBI on a fielder's choice ground out that scored Alex Lane from third to cut the deficit down to five.
- The Warriors got that run back in the eighth on an RBI single.
- Lane and Bozzo each finished the game with a team-high two hits, while Feinberg had a team-high 3 RBIs.
The two teams face off again in game two which takes place Saturday, March 1
st at 6:35 p.m. HST.
