WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Rashad King dropped a game-high 22 points, including the game-winning jumper with five seconds left to send the Northeastern men's basketball team (17-14, 9-9) to a 70-68 win at William & Mary (17-14, 11-7) on Saturday afternoon at Kaplan Arena.

With the score tied at 68, the Huskies put the ball in Kings hands for their final possession. With three seconds separating the game clock and shot clock, King delivered as he has time and again for Northeastern this season, sinking a mid-range jumper before a half court heave from the Tribe went begging at the buzzer.
With the victory, Northeastern will be the No. 7 seed in next week's Jersey Mike's CAA Men's Basketball Championship, where the Huskies will battle No. 10 Hampton on Saturday at 6 p.m. from CareFirst Arena.
King eclipsed the 20+ plateau for the 13th time this season (ninth time in CAA play) to help Northeastern erase an 11-point deficit with 14 minutes left. He finished 6-of-11 from the floor and a perfect 10-of-10 from the line.

With six assists, King also became just the sixth Husky since 2000 to record 500 points and 100 assists in a season, joining Vasa Pusica (2017-18), TJ Williams (2016-17), David Walker (2015-16),
Matt Janning (2009-10) and JJ Barea (2003-04, 2004-05, 2005-06).

King was joined in double figures by
Harold Woods, who recorded his seventh double-double of the season with 16 points and a game-high 13 rebounds, while
JB Frankel added 12 points.
Luca Soroa, meanwhile, brought the energy defensively with five steals in 13 minutes off the bench, leading the Huskies to a season-high 16 steals, the most in a game since Dec. 2, 2017 vs. Cornell.

Caleb Dorsey led the way with 20 points for the Tribe as William & Mary shot 48% overall and 6-of-19 from three-point range, with all six makes coming in the first half.

William & Mary shot 56% overall and 60% from deep in the opening half, leading by as many as 11 before taking a 41-31 lead into the break. The Tribe was lights out from deep, hitting their first four shots from distance before finishing 6-of-10.

Northeastern recovered from a slow start to trim the deficit down to two thanks to a 9-0 run capped by a triple from
William Kermoury to make it 25-23 with 5:48 until recess. NU was 9-of-25 overall and 2-of-9 from three point range, led by 13 points from King.

After the Tribe extended their lead to 11 with 14:04 left, Northeastern responded with a 12-2 run over the next four minutes to make it a one-point game midway through the second half.

It was a one-possession game from there, with four ties and seven lead changes over the final 9:52 to setup the wild ending.
