Northeastern Ready For The Opening Round Of The CAA Tournament

WASHINGTON, D.C. – It's tournament time, and the Northeastern women's basketball team has touched down in the nation's capital for the 2025 Credit Union 1 CAA Women's Basketball Championship. First Round action for the No. 14 Huskies begins on Wednesday afternoon against No. 11 Towson at 4:30 p.m. on FloCollege.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW

1. SERIES HISTORY VS. TOWSON
Towson claimed the regular season series between the two teams winning both on the road and at home. Northeastern sits at 14-20 in the all-time series. In the most recent matchup between the two teams on Feb. 21 Alyssa Staten notched a double-double with a team-high 15 points to go with 10 boards. The Huskies will look to improve their shooting from deep as they struggled last time around going just 3-21 (0.143).

2. NORTHEASTERN IN THE CAA CHAMPIONSHIP
The Huskies are making their 20th appearance in the CAA Championship, posting a 8-18 record in the tournament with three semi-final appearances. Northeastern is seeking its first CAA Championship berth and title.

3. A-LIST ALYSSA
Freshman center Alyssa Staten leads the CAA with 9.8 rebounds per game in conference match-ups. Staten has posted four double-doubles this season with a career-high 14 rebounds on Jan. 5 at Drexel. The Georgia native is the fourth highest ranked freshman in Division 1 in the category of rebounds per game (106th) and the top ranked freshman in the CAA.
