BOSTON – Headed into the final weekend of the regular season, the Northeastern women's basketball team will host CAA opponent Elon University for its senior day celebration on Thursday, March 6 at 7 p.m. The Huskies will then travel to Hofstra on Saturday, March 8 for a 2 p.m. tip-off. Both games will broadcast live on FloCollege.
THREE THINGS TO KNOW
1. VS. ELON – Northeastern and Elon are set to meet for the first time this season after splitting results with them last season. In the 2024 51-46 win over the Phoenix graduate student Maddie Vizza led the Huskies with 12 points to go along with six rebounds and a pair of dimes. The Elon squad is coming off a big conference CAA win on their senior day against North Carolina A&T State 70-69.
2. SENIOR SPOTLIGHT – The Huskies are celebrating their two seniors on Thursday, Bailey Williams and Camille Clement. Williams played in 18 games this season for the Red and Black, notching 31 assists and 43 points. She is on track to graduate with a master's degree in public health. Clement has repped the Husky uniform in 67 games in her collegiate career with a career-high 102 points this season. She is on track to graduate with a bachelor's degree in Speech Language Pathology and Audiology.
3. VS. HOFSTRA – Northeasten and Hofstra are set to meet for the second time this season on Saturday, March 8 in Hempstead N.Y. The Huskies took the first match-up on February 16 at home with a 61-51 victory led by Abby Jegede, who scored a team-high 20 points. Northeastern forced the Pride into 21 turnovers and were able to capitalize to score 19 points off of them. Bailey Williams led the Red and Black with three steals in the contest.
The Huskies will next travel to the CAA Tournament at Entertainment & Sports Arena in Washington, D.C. beginning on Wednesday, March 12 with matchups and game times to be determined by results around the league from this weekend.
