Cabral, Bowery, Huskies Shut Out Charleston To Take Series

BROOKLINE, Mass. -- The Northeastern Huskies (29-9, 12-2 CAA) recorded their 11th shutout of the season, holding the College of Charleston Cougars (22-15, 7-7 CAA) scoreless for the second day in a row, winning the series with a game two score of 9-0 on Saturday afternoon at Friedman Diamond.

Junior Aiven Cabral tossed six shutout innings while allowing just five hits with no walks and one strikeout, while senior Jack Bowery closed out the final three innings for his second save of the season, allowing just two hits with two strikeouts. Harrison Feinberg led the Huskies offensively with six RBIs, including a grand slam home run.
  • Northeastern struck first in the opening frame when Ryan Gerety doubled, moved to third on a Cam Maldonado single, and scored on Harrison Feinberg's sacrifice fly for a 1-0 lead.
  • The Huskies blew the game open in the third inning, scoring four runs highlighted by Feinberg's three-run home run to left center, his team-leading 13th of the season, for the 4-0 lead.
  • Catcher Will Fosberg added the fourth run on an RBI single to center, scoring Jack Goodman, who reached on a walk and stole second.
  • Leading 5-0 in the sixth, Northeastern added four more runs. Cam Maldonado singled home a run, followed by a two-RBI double from Feinberg. Feinberg later stole third and then took home on the overthrow by the catcher.
  • Feinberg notched Northeastern's season-high in RBIs this season with six – it's the first time in his career he's reached the 6-RBI mark in a game.
  • The Northeastern offense was aggressive on the basepaths, stealing seven bases in the contest, including thefts by Gerety, Maldonado (3), Feinberg, Goodman, and Doyle. Maldonado's three steals puts him at 78 career stolen bases.
  • The shutout was the team's NCAA-leading 11th of the season, extending their program record in the stat. Cabral has now pitched in three shutouts on the year, including one complete game shutout, and Bowery has appeared in two of Northeastern's shutouts in 2025.
  • Saturday's win marked Northeastern's eighth consecutive victory as they continue to lead the CAA standings with a 12-2 conference record. It's the second eight-game winning streak of the season for NU.
The series concludes tomorrow with the finale scheduled for 12 p.m. on Sunday, April 20th. That game can be seen on FloCollege.
