PROVIDENCE, R.I. – On Saturday, April 19th, the Northeastern Men's Rowing team took to the Seekonk River to face off against Brown University in a hard-fought series of races across all boat classes.

The morning opened with a commanding performance by the Huskies' coxed four. Stroked by Freshman Logan Smith, the NU crew jumped out to an early lead and maintained control throughout the race, crossing the line ahead of both the Brown A and B entries.

Results – Coxed Four:

1. Northeastern – 7:08.1

2. Brown A – 7:21.1

3. Brown B – 7:29.7

In the third varsity eight, the Huskies were locked level with Brown through the first 1000 meters. Both boats pushed hard through the opening stretch, but Brown began to gain momentum in the second half of the race. Despite a strong fight, the Huskies were unable to respond to Brown's decisive move in the third 500.

1. Brown – 6:11.4

2. Northeastern – 6:19.4

The second varsity eight featured another tight contest. The NU 2V matched Brown stroke for stroke off the line, gaining a 2-seat lead by the 600-meter mark. The Huskies held level through 1500 meters, but Brown executed a powerful sprint in the final stretch, getting out in front the Huskies in the closing meters.

1. Brown – 6:04.2

2. Northeastern – 6:06.3

In the marquee event of the day, both first varsity boats exploded off the line. The Huskies pulled out to a 4-seat lead by the 900-meter mark, setting a fast pace early. Brown responded with a strong move in the third 500, drawing even with the Huskies. In the final sprint, the Brown varsity surged ahead, securing the win.
