Northeastern Has Successful Day At UMass, Exilhomme Qualifies For Penn Relays Final

BOSTON, Mass. – Northeastern saw three personal bests at the UMass pre-conference meet on Friday, while in Pennsylvania, senior Ethan Exilhomme earned a slot in Saturday's final heat of the 110 meter hurdles.

FIELD EVENTS
  • Senior Julietta Ambartsoumian tabbed a distance of 29.94 meters in the Javelin event on Friday, earning an eighth place finish. 
TRACK EVENTS
  • Opening the distance events for the Huskies graduate student Stephanie Kriss and senior Lucy Abdow each secured personal best times in the 1500. Kriss crossed the finish line first with a time of 4:31 flat earning a sixth place finish, while Abdow finished at 4:31.31 for an eighth place finish. 
  • On the men's side of the event, junior Conall Rogers secured a personal best time as well, with a 3:52.83 tabbed time and a sixth place finish. 
  • Freshman Alanna Hagen registered a sixth place finish in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:17.74. 
  • In the women's 5000 run Northeastern saw its biggest success. Senior Vivian McMahon secured a first place finish with a time of 17:44.95, with teammate Lilly Poteet finished in the second slot with a time of 18:13.62. 
  • Wrapping up the day for the Huskies the 4 x 400 relay team of Waverly Hassman, Alanna Hagen, Lauren Trejo and Lucy Abdow secured a second place finish with a time of 4:04.83.

TRACK EVENTS
  • The trio of senior Nicole Dunbury and graduate students Lena Lebrun and Tessa McClain kicked off Penn Relays action for the Huskies on Thursday, highlighted by Lebrun's personal best time of 10:29.05 in the 3000m steeplechase.  
  • Exilhomme competed in the opening round of the 110 meter hurdles at Penn Relays, securing a spot in the finals tomorrow with 13.71 time giving him a fourth place finish.
