WILLIAMSBURG, Va. -- The Northeastern Huskies (41-9, 22-2 CAA) completed a weekend sweep of the William & Mary Tribe (20-31, 13-11 CAA) with a dominant 15-5 seven-inning victory on Sunday afternoon at Plumeri Park.
Northeastern's offense exploded for 15 runs on just nine hits, taking advantage of 11 walks and capitalizing on two William & Mary errors. The Huskies jumped out to a commanding 9-0 lead after two innings and never looked back, extending their winning streak to 20 games and extending its  program-record for conference wins to 22 with one regular-season series remaining.
- Northeastern's offense wasted no time, scoring five runs in the opening inning. After back-to-back walks to Harrison Feinberg and Jack Goodman, Carmelo Musacchia delivered an RBI single to center field for the first run of the game.
- Alex Lane followed with a grand slam to left field, his second of the season, putting the Huskies up 5-0 scoring Musacchia, Goodman, and Matt Brinker.
- The Huskies tacked on four more runs in the second inning. After loading the bases on three walks, Musacchia ripped a bases-clearing RBI double, advancing to third on a ong throw. Musacchia would score on a wild pitch to make it 9-0.
- Cam Maldonado added to the lead in the fourth with a solo home run to left field, his 12th of the season, extending the advantage to 10-0.
- William & Mary got on the board in the bottom of the fourth on a two-out, two-run homer to cut the lead to 10-2.
- Northeastern answered with a five-run fifth inning highlighted by Maldonado's RBI double and another run-producing double from Musacchia, who finished the day 4-for-5 with 5 RBIs.
- Feinberg contributed a sacrifice fly during the fifth-inning rally, as the Huskies built their lead to 15-2.
- The Tribe added a solo home run in the fifth and plated two more runs in the seventh, but the game ended via run rule after seven innings with Northeastern on top 15-5.
- Starting pitcher Jordan Gottesman earned his seventh victory of the season, working five innings while allowing three runs on seven hits. He struck out three and walked two.
- Ryan Griffin and Carson Walsh each worked an inning of relief to close out the victory, with Walsh allowing two runs in the seventh, but holding on for the 10-run lead.
- The three-game sweep of William & Mary concludes a dominant road weekend where the Huskies outscored the Tribe 31-6 overall.
- Northeastern has won its Sunday series finale in run-rule wins in three of the last four weekends.
The Huskies return to New England for the final week of the regular season – they head to UConn on Tuesday, May 13
th for a 6:35 p.m. bout with the other Huskies. Northeastern wraps up the regular season with their final conference series, hosting North Carolina A&T for three games beginning Thursday, May 15th.
