GREENSBORO, N.C. – Nine athletes earned medals, including two golds, as the Northeastern track and field team competed in the second and final day of the 2025 CAA Outdoor Championships. The men finished with 112 points and placed fourth, while the women took home 62.5 points for eighth place.
COMBINED EVENTS
- Freshman Genevieve Duchaussee ended the heptathlon in fourth place with 4,519 points. She added top-half finishes in the long jump (5.20m) and 800m (2:25.89).
- Senior Paul Wisnaskas claimed fourth in the decathlon, scoring 6,485 points. He capped his track and field career with victory in the last event, running a 4:41.55 in the 1500m.
FIELD EVENTS
- Following a rain delay from yesterday's action, the men's hammer throw concluded with graduate student Nicholas Pisciotta winning gold after his first attempt reached 60.99m. The remaining three Huskies all scored points, with freshman Zackery DelSasso (53.98m) leading the way and senior Tremain Robinson (53.70m) and sophomore Aidan Moreau (51.93m) earning fifth and sixth.
- Sophomore Hannah Shaw tied for fifth in the women's pole vault after she cleared the bar at 3.60m.
- Sophomore Ian Solberg equaled a season-best mark of 1.90m in the men's high jump.
- In the women's shot put, junior Leila Curtis made the final after her toss reached 13.22m, where she would place ninth.
- Sophomore Ohan Ambartsoumian (43.04m) finished seventh in the men's discus throw, while his classmate Mark Etienvre reached 39.25m on his third attempt.
- The women's high jump saw sophomore Camryn Cole record a personal best and match the second-best mark on outdoor program history, clearing the bar at 1.79m. That ranks 14th in the East Region and 41st in all of Division I. Junior Mia Belanger also competed, tying for ninth after she recorded a mark of 1.62m.
- Senior Abigail Klinge led all Huskies in the women's discus throw, reaching 43.88m to earn ninth.
TRACK EVENTS
- Northeastern started the track finals with a bang, as the men's 4x100 relay team of graduate student Noah Sweeney, senior Ethan Exilhomme, graduate student Tristen Howard, and sophomore Brunner Williams won gold. The quartet crossed the line at 39.53, breaking the school record for the third time this season and setting top 35 times regionally and nationally.
- The women's 4x100 team, comprised of sophomores Victoria Knight and Savannah Blair, freshman Cora Kunze, and junior Ariann Robinson, added a bronze medal after running a 45.23. That time ranks second on the all-time outdoor performance list.
- Graduate students Cameron Rodgers (14.62) and Savion Thompson (14.71) earned fourth and fifth in the men's 110m hurdle final.
- A. Robinson continued her afternoon with a fifth-place finish in the women's 400m final, setting a personal best time of 54.64.
- Howard grabbed his second medal of the day, winning silver in the men's 100m after her ran a personal best 10.40. His mark is tied for third on the all-time outdoor performance list. Williams crossed the line in fourth at 10.56.
- Blair added another medal and a school record in the women's 100m, claiming silver with a time of 11.50. She also took silver in the women's 200m after she ran a 23.69.
- Junior Conall Rogers used a last-lap march to earn bronze in the men's 800m, setting a personal best of 1:49.39.
- Rodgers' final event was the men's 400m hurdle, where he took bronze after running a 51.51.
- Williams concluded his afternoon with a bronze medal in the men's 200m, dashing across the line at 21.45.
- Graduate student Tessa McClain competed in the women's 5000m, taking fourth after recording a 17:06.63.
- Both 4x400 relay teams finished sixth in their respective races, setting season-bests. The men ran a 3:13.80, the sixth fastest in outdoor program history, and the women ran a 3:46.26.
Looking ahead, several Huskies will wait to see if they qualify for the NCAA Championships East First Round, which take place at Hodges Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida, from May 28 to May 31.
