DEDHAM, Mass. – The Northeastern track and field team concluded the regular season Saturday afternoon, hosting the 23rd Jay Carisella Invitational at the Solomon Track & Field Facility. The Huskies also celebrated 27 seniors and graduate students for their career achievements and contributions to the program.
TRACK EVENTS
- Three Huskies began the meet with the women's 3000m steeplechase, with graduate student Lena Lebrun leading the charge. She finished in third with a time of 10:49.88, with senior Shannon Trevor following in fourth (11:13.49) and senior Lauren Trejo taking fifth (11:28.96) in her first attempt.
- Sophomores Ryan Sarney and Ryan Gruczka attempted the men's 3000m steeplechase for the first time, with Sarney clocking a 9:33.07 for fourth and Gruczka finishing sixth with a time of 10:09.20
- Senior Nicole Dunbury led all Huskies in the women's 1500m with a time of 4:24.86 for second. Graduate student Tessa McClain grabbed seventh with a 4:35.28, and senior Vivian McMahon (4:40.89), sophomore Keira Gamily (4:44.85), and freshmen Emily Wickard (4:46.40) and Anna Lonergan (4:47.83) recorded top 20 finishes.
- A freshman trio attacked the men's 1500m, with Nico Boyle (3:51.95) crossing the line in fourth and Jacob Redman (3:55.61) following close behind for fifth. The last runner, Jack Mattingly, logged a personal best of 3:56.38 for seventh.
- Freshman Sloan Hinton (15.03) raced her way to a top-three finish in the women's 100m hurdle, and freshman Madison Phillips recorded a time of 16.78.
- Graduate student Cameron Rodgers edged his personal best by .01 in his 110m hurdle win, clocking a 14.44. Senior Paul Wisnaskas also recorded a personal best, running a 15.25.
- In the women's 100m, sophomore Victoria Knight ran an 11.92 for second. Freshman Ailani Sutherland (12.38) took eighth, and junior Abigail Thomas finished 11th with a 12.88.
- Graduate student Noah Sweeney, junior Michael Stroup, and freshman Taeshawn Berry earned top-five finishes in the men's 100m. Sweeney led the trio with a 10.61 to finish second, while Stroup dashed across the line at 10.70 for third, and Berry clocked a season-best 10.87.
- Junior Ariann Robinson finished fourth in the women's 400m with a 56.95 and senior Claire Danyluk recorded a 1:01.70. On the men's side, Rodgers (48.72), sophomore Johnny Emmanuel (49.19), and sophomore Quincy Scott (49.29) finished second through fourth.
- In the women's 800m, graduate student Stephanie Kriss finished third with a time of 2:13.60, with senior Lucy Abdow (2:18.80) and freshman Alanna Hagen (2:18.87) adding top ten finishes.
- Senior Reed Cherry ran a 1:51.61 for sixth in the men's 800m, and junior Conall Rogers ran a season-best 1:52.03 for eighth. Freshman Ajay Raina (1:53.59) and Cian Gara Grady (1:54.29) also raced for top 15 finishes.
- Hinton added a second-place finish in the women's 400m hurdle, nearly matching her personal best after logging a 1:02.38.
- Sutherland led all Huskies in the women's 200m with a 25.69, and Thomas (26.15) and Danyluk (26.52) rounded out the top ten.
- Graduate student Tristen Howard burst out the gate in the men's 200m, helping him finish second with a 21.12, a personal best and the eighth fastest time on the all-time outdoor performance list. Berry (21.38) and Stroup (21.57) finished third and fourth.
- Freshman Tim Rank was the lone Husky to finish the men's 5000m, running a 15:43.41 to win the race.
- The women's 4x400m relay concluded track action for Northeastern, as the team of Hagen, sophomore Waverly Hassman, Lonergan, and Kriss recorded a 4:06.93 as the only team racing in the event.
FIELD EVENTS
- Junior Hailey Romero earned fourth in the women's javelin throw, reaching 39.18m. Phillips finished fifth (36.21m) and senior Julietta Ambartsoumian (33.68m) took eighth.
- In the men's shot put, sophomore Ohan Ambartsoumian recorded a throw of 15.25m for sixth. His classmate Mark Etienvre set a season best mark of 14.78 to finish ninth.
- Sophomores Katie Rodriguez and Hannah Shaw cleared 3.62m in the women's pole vault, and sophomore Cassandra Cinzori recorded a vault of 3.47m to all finish in the top ten.
- Junior Leila Curtis finished fifth in the women's shot put, throwing to 13.43m, and senior Abigail Klinge recorded a personal best of 12.52m for ninth.
- Sophomore Camryn Cole leaped 5.90m for second in the women's long jump, while Rodgers (6.92m) took fourth, and Wisnaskas (6.54m) finished sixth in the men's long jump.
- In the women's triple jump, junior Mia Belanger set a new personal best of 11.24m to finish third.
- Senior Athanasios Pantazopoulos cleared the bar at 4.51m for third place, and junior Kevin Xu added seventh with a mark of 4.21m.
- In the men's long jump, Rodgers stretched to a distance of 6.92m to earn fourth, while Wisnaskas claimed sixth after he reached 6.54m.
- Belanger (1.70m) took first place in the women's high jump, and Rodgers (2.00m) finished second on the men's side.
- Graduate student Nicholas Pisciotta earned another win in the men's weight throw, launching his hammer 61.92m. Freshman Zackery DelSasso (55.94m) and sophomore Aidan Moreau (52.87m) took sixth and seventh, respectively.
- O. Ambartsoumian (46.25m) and Klinge (46.18m) capped the event by setting a personal bests in the discus for a top-ten finishes.
Northeastern now has a week off to prepare for the 2025 CAA Outdoor Championships, held at the Marcus T. Johnson Track in Greensboro, North Carolina.
