Men's Soccer Opens 2025 Season With Two Home Games

BOSTON – The Northeastern University men's soccer team opens its 2025  campaign with a pair of home match ups at Parsons Field in Brookline this week. The Huskies welcome the Holy Cross Crusaders on Thursday, August 21st at 6 p.m., followed by the Stonehill Skyhawks on Sunday, August 24th at 1 p.m. Both games will stream on FloFC, with Thursday's contest also available on NESN+.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW:

  1. BACK TO BROOKLINE: The Huskies return to their home fortress at Parsons Field where they posted a 4-2-3 record during the 2024 season. Northeastern plays two of its seven 2025 home games this weekend, before playing six of its next seven games on the road.
  2. RISING STAR POWER: Sophomore midfielder Ethan Kang headlines the Huskies' returning talent after earning CAA All-Rookie Team honors in 2024. Kang appeared in all 16 games for Northeastern in his debut season, making 14 starts, and posting a team-high four assists. The rising sophomore returns to the roster along with graduate goalkeeper Tobias Jahn, who started the first four games of Northeastern's 2024 season before missing the rest of the season due to injury. He posted an .815 save percentage in those four starts, stopping 22 of 27 shots faced with one shutout.
  3. TALE OF TWO OPPONENTS: Thursday's opener against Holy Cross marks the first meeting between the two programs since the 2022 season, where the Crusaders grabbed a 1-0 home victory over the Huskies in Worcester. All-time Northeastern owns an 18-12-1 record against Holy Cross, with their last win coming the season prior in 2021. Sunday's game against Stonehill will be the first meeting of the two programs, with Stonehill joining DI in 2022.

After this opening homestand, the Huskies will look to carry momentum into CAA conference play as they begin their pursuit of a championship in the highly competitive Colonial Athletic Association.
