DEDHAM, Mass.— The Northeastern field hockey team kicked off its 2025 slate with a 2-0 victory over the Stonehill Skyhawks on Friday afternoon at Dedham Field. Following a brief rain delay in warmups, the Huskies secured their first shutout victory of the season. 

• Alex Mega opened the scoring for the Huskies in 2025 with her first goal of the year to put NU up 1-0 in the second quarter. Mega's goal was assisted by Anna-Kate Domingue. 
• In the third frame, Jessica Garden tallied her first collegiate goal to double up the Huskies' lead to 2-0. 
• Northeastern held firm on the defensive end, with goalie Arabella Loveridge making two saves for the shutout. 

 Northeastern next travels to UMass Lowell on Friday, Sept. 5 at 6 p.m.
