NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Northeastern (4-4) fell to Yale (2-3) in three sets, evening their overall record at 4-4.
Yale def. Northeastern: 25-16, 25-17, 25-12
- Set One: Yale set the tone early, taking an 11-4 advantage over the Huskies. Northeastern found strong swings from Valentina Meirelles, but fell 25-16.
- Set Two: Northeastern opened the second set up 3-1 after kills from Svenja Rodenbüsch and Beatrice Gennari. The Bulldogs responded, flipping the score to 13-7 in their favor. The host team did not look back as they extended their lead to 2-0.
- Set Three: Yale jumped to a big 14-4 lead as Northeastern struggled to receive. The Huskies would bring it within eight points with a kill from Emma Rowell, but would not be able to dig themselves out of the hole, falling 25-12.
- Rodenbüsch led the offense with eight kills and tallied eight digs.
- Sofia King led the passing effort with 12 assists and nine digs.
The Huskies continue their weekend road trip in Connecticut on Sunday afternoon, September 14th, with a 4 p.m. match at UConn.
