DEDHAM, Mass. – Arabella Loveridge made eight saves for the Northeastern field hockey team (3-2), but goals from No. 12 Ohio State in the second and third quarters sent the Buckeyes past the Huskies on Sunday afternoon at Dedham Field, 2-0.
Â
After a scoreless first quarter that saw Loveridge make three stops, including an impressive toe save on a corner opportunity, the Buckeyes broke through late in the second when Makenna Webster corralled a loose ball in the circle and scooped one past Loveridge for the 1-0 lead.
Â
Ohio State extended it to 2-0 early in the second half on a goal from Emily Barker off a feed from Webster.
Ava Tello kept OSU off the board with her first defensive save of the season. The Buckeyes closed out the game with a 2-0 final score.Â
Â
The Huskies will be back in action on Friday when Northeastern travels to Maine for a 3 p.m. showdown with the Black Bears.
