HANOVER, N.H. – Despite a pair of timely goals from Northeastern (2-4-1), the Huskies fell in non-conference action on the road to Dartmouth (1-1-3) by a final score of 3-2 on Wednesday evening at Burnham Field.
- Dartmouth was able to strike first in the 22nd minute on a curling free kick from just 20 yards out.
- Bryce Flowers would equalize with his team-leading fourth goal of the season, after drawing a penalty on hard contact in the box. He lofted a shot to the right of the keeper to knot it at 1-1.
- The Huskies looked to go into half on a 1-1 scoreline, but the Big Green earned another dangerous free kick opportunity, that bounced off a pair of strikers and off of the post and in for the 2-1 Dartmouth lead in the 42nd minute.
- Despite big second half pressure from the Huskies, Dartmouth tallied the insurance goal in the 78th minute for the two-goal lead.
- Attempting to mount a comeback, a corner kick by Ethan Kang bounced around the box and was eventually tipped in by Matty Gardner to cut the lead back down to one in the 82nd minute. It was Gardner's first collegiate goal.
- A red card in the final ten minutes would hamper the comeback as Dartmouth held on for its first win of the season.
