Huskies Open CAA Play

BOSTON— The Northeastern women's soccer team is set to open conference play, hosting UNCW on Thursday, Sept. 18 at 6 p.m. and Charleston on Sunday, Sept. 21 at 12 p.m. Thursday's game is available to watch on NESN+ and both games will stream live on FloCollege.

Sunday's tilt will serve as the Huskies' Community Day and Alumni Game, a fan bus will leave Forsyth St. at 11:30 a.m. and will return following the conclusion of the game. There will be a scarf giveaway for early arriving fans, face painting and a postgame autograph session. Additionally, food and refreshments will be available for all women's soccer alumni in attendance.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
  1. LAST TIME OUT: The Huskies closed out non-conference play with a 2-2 tie at the University of Vermont. Sophomore Claire Murray posted her team-leading fourth goal of the season, while senior Lauren Ahles tallied her first goal of the year. Murray's four goals rank tied for the fourth-best mark among all CAA players, with the sophomore playing in just five games.
  2. OH HEY CAA: This marks the first season the conference will be separated into two divisions— with the Huskies playing the North. During the regular season, teams will play nine conference matches, which include one match against each team in their division and four matches against teams from the other division. All matches will count in the standings. The top three teams in each division will qualify for the CAA Championship.
  3. THE OPPOSITION: The Huskies will open against UNCW who sits at 4-3-1 on the season and most recently fell 2-0 to Western Carolina. NU owns a 12-8-1 record against UNCW, with the two teams last meeting in 2024 for a 0-0 tie. Charleston enters CAA play riding a three-game winning streak and will take on Monmouth before facing the Huskies. Northeastern is 9-1-1 all-time against Charleston, with its lone loss coming during the 2018 season.
Northeastern will next host Drexel on Sunday, Sept. 28 at 1 p.m. at Parsons Field. The game will be available to watch on NESN+ and FloCollege.
