STONY BROOK, N.Y. – Northeastern (5-6) battled to a five-set victory over Stony Brook (5-6) on Saturday afternoon. The Huskies were paced by junior Beatrice Gennari with 13 kills on 15 attacks.

- Set One: Stony Brook opened the second match of the weekend with a 5-1 advantage on three strong swings. The home team would maintain their advantage throughout the set, with junior captain Kaylin Daniels pacing the Huskies throughout the 25-17 loss.
- Set Two: The Huskies flipped the script in the second taking a 3-0 beginning stretch on a triple threat of attacks from Svenja Rodenbüsch. The home team looked to make a comeback with a pair of kills to bring the score within four at 19-15, but one last strong swing from Rodenbüsch secured the 25-17 Northeastern win.
- Set Three: Stony Brook responded in the third set of the day, tallying a 8-2 advantage. Northeastern evened the score midway through the set off of a pair of impressive swings from Beatrice Gennari, but Stony Brook would fight to a 25-21 win.
- Set Four: The fourth set proved to be a battle between the teams. The score stayed within one until the Huskies pulled to a 11-7 lead on a dominate block from the pair of Kaylin Daniels and Svenja Rodenbüsch. The home team rallied to within one point, but a pair of kills from Zehra Yilmaz stumped the home team to push a fifth set on a 25-20 Northeastern win.
- Set Five: Northeastern set the tone and never looked back in the fifth set. An opening 7-3 run highlighted by five kills, three from Emma Rowell, forced the home team into a timeout. After the time out, Northeastern capitalized with Arina Sosinovica tallying an ace and first-year Aven Crosby sealing the deal with an ace of her own in a 15-6 win.
- Beatrice Gennari paced the Huskies with 13 kills, on a .800 clip to go alongside two blocks and a service ace.
- Kaylin Daniels filled the sheet with 12 kills and five blocks for 14.5 points.
- Sofia King and Arina Sosinovica split the passing efforts, with King tallying 29 assists and Sosinovica grabbing 24.
- Nadia Koanui led the dig stat line with 15 on the afternoon.
- As a team, the Huskies notched 64 kills, 60 assists, 10 service aces, 17 blocks, and 62 digs.
Northeastern will host their first game of the season on Friday, September 26 against Towson. The Huskies are slated for a 4 p.m. start time and will be bringing attention to mental health awareness.
