No. 5 Harvard Tops Northeastern, 2-0

DEDHAM, Mass. – Arabella Loveridge made eight saves for the Northeastern field hockey team (4-3), but goals from No. 5 Harvard in the second and third quarters sent the Crimson past the Huskies on Sunday afternoon at Dedham Field, 2-0.

  • After a scoreless first quarter that saw Loveridge make two stops, the Crimson broke through late in the second when Lara Beekhuis scored an unassisted goal to take a 1-0 lead.
  • Late in the third period, Harvard extended the lead to 2-0 off a penalty corner inserted by Kate Oliver, stopped by Rosa Kooijmans and shot by Bronte-May Brough. The Crimson closed out the game with a 2-0 final score.

The Huskies will be back in action on Friday for the first conference game of the season when Northeastern travels to Towson for a 4 p.m. showdown with the Tigers.
