Huskies Fall To Towson, 2-1

TOWSON, Md. — The Northeastern field hockey team (4-4) took part in a battle at Towson, where the teams traded goals early, but after a scoreless third, the Tigers sealed a 2-1 win with a late fourth-period strike.
  • The Tigers struck first in the first period when Alaina Lomonaco found the back of the net to notch her first goal of the season.
  • Northeastern answered with a goal of their own in the second period. Emilia Adragna scored off a penalty stroke to make the game 1-1.
  • The third period remained scoreless for both teams. Both teams saw a penalty corner opportunity, but neither found the back of the cage.
  • In the fourth, with six minutes left, the Tigers took the final lead with a goal from Arden Hunteman, assisted by Anouk Westerink.
Northeastern will head south again next Friday, Oct. 3 to play William and Mary, their second conference game of the season. The Huskies will return home to Dedham Field to host Boston College for the Beat Cancer Game on Sunday, Oct. 5 at 12 p.m.
