BOSTON, Mass. – Northeastern (5-8, 1-3 CAA) battled against top-seeded Towson (13-2, 4-0 CAA) on Saturday afternoon, falling in five tight sets. Beatrice Gennari paced the Huskies with eight kills, 13 blocks, and four digs.

- Set One: Towson opened the second match with a 14-7 lead on a powerful blocks from their middles. Three kills from Brynn Smith ignited a push from Northeastern, with the Huskies taking a 19-17 lead in response. A 5-0 run to end the set, with a service ace from Sofia King, led to the 25-20 Husky win.
- Set Two: The Tigers began the second set in similar fashion to the first with a 9-6 early lead. Northeastern battled into a two-point deficit with a kill from Emma Rowell. Towson was able to collect into a 25-23 win down the stretch from a kill from Sanders.
- Set Three: The Tigers went three-for-three in early leads, opening the third set with a 12-7 lead. A pair of kills from Zehra Yilmaz and Emma Rowell pushed the Huskies into the lead 18-16. A late push from the Tigers would bring the score within two, but a final kill-shot from Svenja Rodenbüsch.
- Set Four: An even battle opened the fourth set of the afternoon with the teams staying neck and neck at 7. An exchange of runs from the two programs brought the game to a 15-13 media timeout in favor of the Tigers. Coming out of the media time out Towson did not look back, extending to a 25-19 win.
- Set Five: Strong serving from the Huskies kick-started a 5-1 run to open the final set of the day. Relentless play from the Tigers evened the score at 9-9, before taking a 12-9 lead. The final point for the Huskies was scored by the blocking pair of Brynn Smith and Beatrice Gennari.
- Beatrice Gennari filled the stat sheet for the Huskies with a career-high 13 blocks, eight kills, and four digs.
- Nadia Koanui held down the court defensively with 18 digs.
- Arina Sosinovica and Sofia King split the passing efforts with 20 and 19 assists, respectfully, with Sosinovica tallying three service aces.
- As a team, Northeastern tallied 56 kills, 51 assists, 37 blocks, and seven service aces.
Northeastern will return to the road for a pair of games in Elon, N.C. against the Phoenix of Elon University. The first match will be on Saturday, October 11, with a 3 p.m. slated start time on FloCollege.
