WILMINGTON, N.C.— The Northeastern volleyball team fell to UNCW in four sets on Friday evening at Hanover Hall, with the Seahawks taking the match 3-1 (25-22, 16-25, 25-22, 25-22). The Huskies drop to 4-9 overall and 2-3 in conference play, while UNCW improves to 7-8 and 2-1.
Cayenne Ceman paced Northeastern's attack with a match-high 18 kills. Emma Rowell chipped in seven kills, and Valentina Meirelles added eight kills of her own. Bryce Leatherwood hit an efficient .364 with six kills and contributed on the defensive end as well.
Setter Arina Sosinovica ran the Huskies' offense with 33 assists, while libero Iris Canko led all players with 15 digs to anchor the back row.
The two teams will meet again Saturday, Oct. 3 at 1 p.m., as Northeastern looks to even the weekend series.
