Northeastern Slated For Beanpot Semifinal Against Boston University

BOSTON — The Northeastern men's hockey team faces Boston University in the Beanpot semifinals on Monday, Feb. 2, with puck drop scheduled for 8 p.m. at TD Garden. The game can be found on NESN, ESPN+ and TSN+.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
  1. TOURNAMENT TESTEDMonday night marks the start of the 73rd annual Dunkin' men's Beanpot, where Northeastern has captured five of the last seven titles (2018, 2019, 2020, 2023, 2024). Northeastern returns nine skaters with Beanpot experience, led by captain Vinny Borgesi. The senior defenseman has tallied four points (4a) in five career tournament games while claiming two Beanpot championships. The Huskies' 12 new skaters have made an immediate impact this season, combining for 94 points (30g, 64a) to account for 51 percent of Northeastern's scoring.
  2. DAWG FIGHT AT THE GARDEN: Monday night's contest marks the fourth meeting between the Huskies and the Terriers this season and the 259th all-time. The Terriers lead the 2025-26 season series 2-1. Over the last 20 meetings, Northeastern holds a 10-9-1 record against BU, with both teams having scored 51 goals during that span. Twelve different Huskies have recorded at least one point against Boston University this season, led by freshman Giacomo Martino with four points (4a). The last Beanpot meeting between the two programs came in the championship game on Feb. 12, 2024, when Northeastern claimed its second-straight Beanpot title with a 4-3 overtime victory.
  3. PUTTIN' ON THE RITZJunior Dylan Hryckowian surpassed the 100-point milestone following his two-point performance (1g, 1a) against UMass last Friday night. In 94 career games, Hryckowian has tallied 101 points (38g, 63a), becoming the first Husky to reach the century mark since his older brother, Justin Hryckowian, who concluded the 2023-24 season with an identical stat line of 101 points (35g, 66a) in 94 games. Hryckowian leads all Northeastern skaters in points (31), goals (14) and assists (17). His 31 points in 24 games and 1.29 points-per-game average pace all Hockey East skaters in both conference and overall scoring.
