BOSTON – Cruz Davis had a game-high 22 points, and Hofstra (19-10, 10-6) shot 51% as a team to down the Northeastern men's basketball team (6-20, 2-13) on Saturday afternoon at the Cabot Center, 82-68.

Northeastern was led by
William Kermoury, who finished with 17 points to lead four Huskies in double figures. He was joined by
Youri Fritz, who recorded his second double-double of the season with 14 points and 11 rebounds, along with a career-high 12 points from
Petar Pinter and 10 from
Xavier Abreu. Abreu also had 10 rebounds for his first career double-double. Northeastern finished 41% overall and 6-of-23 from distance.

Prior to the game, the Huskies honored Fritz and managers Vinh Lam and Josh Miller for their dedication to the men's basketball program and the Northeastern community.

Hofstra came in waves during the first half, hitting seven of its first 10 shots to bolt out to a double-digit lead in the opening seven minutes of the game before closing on a 7-0 run to take a 39-30 lead at the break. The Pride shot 59% overall (16-of-27) and 54% from deep, led by 12 points from Davis.

In between, Northeastern recovered with a 13-2 run over more than four minutes to erase the deficit and lead by three with 7:02 until the break, 24-21. Fritz led the way with seven points and five rebounds for a Huskies squad that was 13-of-29 from the field.

The Pride remained in control throughout the second half, shooting 43% while holding the Huskies to 39% from the floor. An 11-0 run over less than three minutes ballooned the Hofstra lead to as many as 22 to put the game out of reach.

The Huskies will hit the road next week for a pair of games in Virginia, beginning on Thursday night at William & Mary. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. on FloCollege and MASN.
