BOSTON -- In the 2026 Beanpot Consolation game, Northeastern (12-14-1) fell to Harvard (13-10-1) by a sore of 4-1 on Monday afternoon at TD Garden.
- The Crimson opened the scoring 12:08 into the first period on a bouncing puck that deflected to the far-side face off dot, and was passed into the crease and tipped in past the goaltender.
- Northeastern was able to get the equalizer late in the second period, on a faceoff from Jacob Mathieu on the near side. The puck went behind the net and was picked up by Giacomo Martino, who found Joe Connor all alone in the far side face off circle. Connor's one-timer found the back of the net for the 1-1 tie.
- Harvard re-took the lead 17:06 into the period on a transition play that became a 3-on-2 rush, finding the top right of the next from the near side circle.
- The Crimson took a 3-1 lead 5:22 into the third on a shot from the blue line that trickled 5-hole.
- Northeastern looked to get back on the scoresheet with a powerplay with 12 minutes left, but the Husky tally was waved offsides after a Harvard challenge. The Huskies were 0-6 on the power play on the afternoon, while the Crimson went 0-2.
- With the NU netminder pulled, the Crimson tallied an empty-netter with 1:46 left, giving the game its 4-1 final.
- Northeastern is now 22-26 all-time vs. Harvard in the Beanpot, dropping two straight matchups with the Crimson in the tourney.
- It's the first back-to-back fourth place finish in the tournament for NU since the 1989 and 1990 tournaments.
The Huskies head down to Providence for a two-game series with the No. 7/6 Friars in Schneider Arena on Friday and Saturday, February 13
