BOSTON -- The Northeastern men's rowing team is back on the water this weekend for two days of racing at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Fla.
The Huskies have three eights in action, each of which will take on Brown and Yale on Friday afternoon beginning with the third varsity at 3:10 p.m., followed by the 2V (4:40 p.m.) and 1V (5:30 p.m.). The first varsity race will be contested with the Dreissigacker Cup on the line between Northeastern and Brown.
The same three Northeastern crews will race again on Saturday for the Benderson Cup against Brown, Harvard, Stanford, Yale and Washington, beginning at 10:50 a.m.

This weekend's racing includes some of the top crews in the nation, which each school ranked in the top-ten of the preseason JRN Collegiate Poll: No. 1 Washington, No. 2 Harvard, No. 6 Brown, No. 7 Northeastern, No. 8 Stanford, and No. 10 Yale.
2. DREISSIGACKER CUP HISTORY
Friday's first varsity race with Brown will be for the Dreissigacker Cup and replacing a dual race originally scheduled for April. The Bears hold a 35-25 advantage in the all-time series which, with the exception of 2020 (COVID-19 pandemic), has been held every year since 1965.
3. STAMAS, LEONHARDT NAMED TO IRCA ATHLETE WATCHLIST
Northeastern's
Alex Stamas and
Julian Leonhardt were named to the 2026 IRCA Athlete Watchlist earlier this week. Stamas, currently in his second season in the first varsity, was one of six Division I/II coxswains on the list, while Leonhardt sits in the stroke seat of the 1V and is a co-captain in 2026.
