AMESBURY, Mass.— Sophomore
Lisa Jönsson of the No. 5 Northeastern women's hockey team was named the Hockey East Stop It Goaltending Goaltender of the Month for February as announced on Wednesday.
Jönsson posted a 4-1-0 record in February with a 1.28 goals against average and .961 save percentage. Four the five games she played went to overtime, including a 39-save performance to guide Northeastern to a double overtime win against Boston University in the Hockey East Quarterfinals.
In all five of her starts, Jönsson made over 30 saves and did not allow more than two goals in any outing. Her lone loss came in overtime against Boston College.
This marks Jönsson's first Goaltender of the Month award this season and the first of her career.
