GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The Northeastern Huskies (21-16, 11-5 CAA) erupted for 15 runs on 11 hits in a dominant 15-0 shutout victory over North Carolina A&T (10-26, 3-13 CAA) on Friday evening at War Memorial Stadium. Robbie O'Connor delivered five scoreless innings to earn his sixth win of the season, while AJ Aschettino drove in five runs on a first-inning two-run double and a seventh-inning three-run home run to lead a Northeastern offense that put up crooked numbers in five of seven innings.
- Tyler Harmony set the table in the first with a leadoff single up the middle, and after Ryan Gerety walked and Matt Brinker singled to load the bases, Aschettino cleared them with a double to deep right field to plate two runs. Two batters later, Charlie Criscola doubled down the right field line to drive in two more and cap a four-run opening frame.
- Northeastern added two more in the third without recording a hit. Brinker reached on a throwing error and advanced to second on a balk before scoring on a fielding error. Henry DiGiorgio followed with a sacrifice fly to push the lead to 6-0.
- Harrison Feinberg launched a two-run home run to right center in the fourth, his 13th of the season, with Harmony aboard on a walk. Brinker added an RBI sacrifice fly later in the inning to extend the advantage to 9-0.
- Harmony doubled to right center in the fifth to score DiGiorgio, who had walked and stolen second, making it 10-0.
- Carter Bentley singled through the left side in the sixth to score Brinker, and DiGiorgio followed with a ground-rule double to right center to plate Cooper Tarantino, extending the lead to 12-0.
- Aschettino capped his big night with a three-run home run to right center in the seventh -- with Feinberg and Gerety both aboard -- his third of the season, to account for the final 15-0 margin.
- O'Connor (6-1) earned the win, working five innings of shutout ball while allowing just three hits, walking three, and striking out five.
- Jack Cropper and James Morice each threw a scoreless inning of relief to close it out. Cropper collected a pair of strikeouts, while Morice got all three of his outs in the seventh by way of swinging K's.
