Northeastern Track and Field Rounds Out Busy Weekend at Sean Collier, UConn Northeast Challenge

BOSTON — The Northeastern men's and women's track and field teams wrapped their busiest weekend of the season at the Sean Collier Invitational and the UConn Northeast Challenge on Saturday evening.

UCONN NORTHEAST CHALLENGE

  • Carter Engleman competed in the men's decathlon, taking second in the 110mH (15.51), second in the discus (33.46m), second in the pole vault (4.55m), fifth in the javelin throw (43.75m) and second in the 1500m (4:55.54).
  • Elena Olson and Annalisa Marckmann competed in the women's heptathlon. Olson finished with a 4.75m in the long jump, a 27.87m in the javelin throw and a 2:36.30 in the 800m. Marckmann posted a 4.43m in the long jump, a 19.94m in the javelin throw and a 3:13.41 in the 800m.
  • Northeastern swept first place in both the men's and women's 4x100m. Michael Stroup, Brunner Williams, Raymond Felton III and Taeshawn Berry posted a time of 40.38, while Victoria Knight, Ailani Sutherland, Cora Kunze and Anaya Jones clocked a 48.68.
  • In the men's 110mH, Iolo Grant took third with a 14.17 and Aiden Ray finished with a 14.87. For the women, Sloan Hinton clocked a 15.11 and Madison Phillips finished with a 16.62.
  • Morgan Hayward took eighth in the women's 400m with a time of 56.43, while Quincy Scott finished with a 48.63 for the men.
  • In the women's 100m, Victoria Knight and Kunze ran times of 12.02 and 12.04, respectively. In the men's 100m, Felton III, Stroup and Williams placed third through fifth, respectively, with times of 10.53, 10.55 and 10.59.
  • Aidan Ray was the lone competitor in the 400mH, taking second with a time of 52.65.
  • Kunze and Knight finished back-to-back in the women's 200m with times of 24.64 and 24.76, while Williams placed second in the men's 200m with a 21.28.
  • The men's 4x400m relay group of Taeshawn Berry, Alex Landry, Scott and Williams finished with a 3:15.41.

The Huskies are back in action next weekend at the Penn Relays at the Ott Center for Track and Field April 23-25 and the Ken O'Brien Championship Prep at the UMass Track & Field Complex on April 25.
