Kyle Sarney prepare to compete at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships East First Round at The University of Kentucky Track and Field Complex. Action is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, May 27, and concludes on Saturday, May 30.
THREE THINGS TO KNOW
- RIDING THE CAA WAVE — The Northeastern track & field program battled fiercely at the 2026 CAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The men's team accumulated 155 points for second place, while the women tallied 41 points. The two-day meet saw many highlights, including four gold medals from senior Patrick Cantlon, freshman Carter Engelman, graduate student Ryan Slaney and junior Aidan Moreau.
- ST. CYR AND SARNEY SET SAIL — Two Huskies will represent Northeastern at the NCAA East First Round in Lexington. Walpole, Massachusetts native Matthew St. Cyr earned a spot in the javelin after recording a qualifying throw of 66.66 meters at the UConn Dog Fight and enters the competition ranked 30th in the region. North Easton, Massachusetts native Kyle Sarney will compete in the 3000m steeplechase after qualifying with a time of 8:41.67 at the Raleigh Relays. Sarney heads into the meet ranked 16th in the region and returns to regionals for the third time in his career.
- LANDED IN LEXINGTON — The University of Kentucky Track and Field Complex hosts the NCAA D1 East Round beginning on Wednesday, May 27. In Lexington, athletes will look to secure a top-12 finish in their respective events to advance to the NCAA Championships at Hayward Field in Oregon. All events will be available to watch on ESPN+.
