BURLINGTON, Vt. -- Jessica Garden and Camille Armaganian each scored in the fourth quarter, but the Northeastern field hockey team (0-1) opened its season with a 5-2 loss to Vermont (1-0) on Friday afternoon at Moulton Winder Field.
- Vermont opened the scoring in the first quarter and added a goal in each of the second and third quarters to take a 3-0 lead into the fourth.
- Garden cut the deficit to 4-1, deflecting in a Lucy Walton shot on a penalty corner for Northeastern's first goal of the season.
- Vermont answered with another goal before Armaganian converted a penalty stroke in the final minute to make it 5-2, the final score.
- Aiko Price made her collegiate debut in goal to start the second half and made four saves over the final two quarters.Â
Northeastern is back in action Sunday, Aug. 30, for its home opener against No. 9 Syracuse at noon at Dedham Field.
