COLUMBIA, S.C. -- The Northeastern volleyball team was swept by South Carolina, 3-0 (25-22, 25-14, 25-17), on Sunday, closing out the Gamecock Classic.
Emma Rowell led the Huskies with 11 kills on a .444 clip, while Beatrice Gennari added seven kills without an error (.412). Arina Sosinovica ran the offense with 12 assists and Aven Crosby paced the defense with nine digs.
South Carolina got 12 kills from Olivia Borgman and 21 assists from Kiana Dinn, out-hitting Northeastern .347 to .093 for the match.
Northeastern returns home next weekend to host Holy Cross, Fairfield and Harvard at the Cabot Center from Sept. 4-6.
