THREE THINGS TO KNOW
1. SCOUTING THE AGGIES – North Carolina A&T enters its first CAA series of the season with a 5-6 record, having faced a challenging non-conference slate. The Aggies opened the season with wins over Appalachian State and Bryant before adding victories against Queens (N.C.), Furman and North Carolina Central. A&T enters the weekend having dropped four straight, including competitive losses to UNC Greensboro, Davidson, Wake Forest and High Point. The Aggies pushed High Point to five sets in their most recent outing, with Zariah Winton tying a career high with 20 kills and Tyne Ross adding 19 kills and 14 digs. Ross, a two-time First Team All-CAA selection and former CAA Rookie of the Year, leads the Aggies into their first conference action of the season.
2. HOME SWEET HOME – This weekend marks Northeastern's fourth and fifth home matches of the season, with the Huskies returning to Cabot Center for the first time since hosting the Northeastern Tournament Sept. 4-6. Northeastern opened its home slate with a 3-0 sweep of Holy Cross, hitting .276 as a team while Emma Rowell led the Huskies with nine kills. The Huskies will have plenty of opportunities to defend their home court throughout the remainder of CAA play, with Elon, Stony Brook and William & Mary all set to visit Cabot Center later this season.
3. CONFERENCE LEADERS – Northeastern enters the weekend with several Huskies ranking among the CAA's statistical leaders. Beatrice Gennari ranks second in the conference with a .397 hitting percentage, while Emma Rowell continues to pace the Huskies offensively with 3.59 kills per set, the fifth-highest mark in the league. As a team, Northeastern ranks third in the CAA with 14.71 digs per set, trailing only Stony Brook and Towson.
