Garreth Ewing, the newest addition to the Northeastern coaching staff, joined the Huskies in April of 2011. He brings a wealth of collegiate and international experience to the program.

Before arriving on Huntington Ave., Ewing spent the 2010 season at the University of North Carolina, where he helped lead the Tar Heels to a 22-3 record and a trip to the 2010 National Championship game against Maryland.

Prior to his stint at UNC, Ewing coached in his home country of South Africa at the University of Johannesburg for 11 years. He spent six of those 11 years as head coach, leading Johannesburg to three Premier League titles and one National University title. Ewing also led the South Gauteng men's State team to two consecutive South African National Tournament finals in 2008 and 2009.

On the international stage, Ewing has served as a High Performance coach, helping to lead South Africa to the Indoor World Cup, Junior Africa Cup and Junior World Cup before coming to the United States.

Before his career as a coach started in 1993, Ewing played eight years of Premier Division hockey in South Africa.
