MaKayla Hancock completed her second season as an assistant coach at Northeastern in 2017.
In her second season, Hancock helped the Huskies to an appearance in the 2017 CAA tournament, while five different Huskies garnered conference postseason honors and Jamie Bartucca landed on the NFHCA All-Region First Team.Â

Hancock came to Northeastern from Providence College where she was a volunteer assistant coach for the last two seasons while pursuing her master’s degree.

A 2014 graduate of Bryant University, Hancock is no stranger to the coaching profession beginning her coaching career in 2010 with a club program and elevating to becoming a USA Field Hockey assistant and head coach at Futures sites.

In 2015-16, Hancock was a volunteer assistant coach at Providence College helping out with all aspects of the game on and off the field.

Hancock assisted in team practice planning for both field players and goalkeepers, coded film, attended and assisted all games and travel, and assisted in set up and planning of all camps/clinics.

In her spare time, Hancock earned her Level I USA Field Hockey coaching accreditation, and has been a part of regional and national tournaments through officiating, directing drills, and overseeing the sessions and tournaments since 2011.

A four-year letter winner at Bryant University, Hancock played in 66 games on defense during her time as a Bulldog.

While at Bryant, Hancock served as the team captain of the Bulldogs in her junior and senior seasons and was a three-time Northeast conference academic honor roll honoree.

After playing and starting in all 18 games of her senior year, Hancock was named to the All-MAAC Second team notching a career best three goals and three assists for nine points.

A triplet, Hancock played along her sisters Mallory (Forward) and Megan (GK) in each of her seasons at Bryant. Hancock hails from Skowhegan, Maine. Â
