Fred Cusick, at 90; the velvety voice of the Bruins for nearly five decades (Boston.com)
Former Northeastern three-sport student-athlete Fred Cusick, who was the voice of the Boston Bruins on the radio and on television for 45 years, passed away Tuesday at the age of 90.
At Northeastern, Cusick lettered in hockey from 1939-41 and earned a letter in football in 1940. He also participated on the baseball team. During his time with the hockey team, the Huskies were 21-13-0.
Cusick graduated from Northeastern in 1942 and began broadcasting Bruins games in 1952.
