he Northeastern women's soccer team came away with a 0-0 tie against Boston University on Thursday night at Nickerson Field. The Huskies are now 5-7-4 on the season and 1-2-2 in America East action.
NU goalkeeper Cynthia Slowik had several big saves to preserve the scoreless tie, as the Terriers challenged her the whole match. The tie was NU's first ever against BU as the Huskies had lost in the six previous meetings.
"We were disappointed that we didn't come out of tonight's match with three points," said Northeastern head coach Ed Matz. "I thought that we played very well tonight."
The Huskies had a golden opportunity to end it in the second overtime when sophomore Jen North slid to try to knock in a cross in front of the net, but came up just short.
Boston University goalie Jessica Clinton made four saves, while Slowik ended the night with six. BU outshot the Huskies 18-8. Northeastern will next play at Binghamton on Sunday starting at noon.
