Jordan Thomson pitched a complete game, allowing just five hits, to lead Northeastern to a 4-1 win over Hartford in the first game of a doubleheader and the opener of a key four-game America East series.
Northeastern plated three runs in the top of the first on a Brad Czarnowski leadoff home run (his second of the week), and a Erik Hagstrom two-RBI double.
The Huskies added another run in the top of the fourth on Hagstrom's second homer of the year before the Hawks got on the board on a Ron Acabbo RBI single in the bottom of the fourth.
Northeastern starter Thomson went the distance to earn his fourth win of the season, scattering five hits while striking out three. Jarrett Stawarz took the loss for Hartford, pitching a complete game while tallying six strikeouts.
