In their second contest of the season, the Huskies topped The Ball State Cardinals by a score of 4-1 at Lakeside Field in Evanston, Ill. Senior forward Harriet Hoyer scored twice for the Huskies, while Meg Sweeney and newcomer Pam Aldridge added to Northeastern's score. All of NU's goals were unassisted.
Overall, the Huskies boasted 26 total shots, and thanks to strong defensive play held BSU to one. The Cardinal's lone shot on goal, made by Casey Hunsicker, accounted for BSU's only tally of the afternoon. Hunsicker's goal was assisted by Jamie Kahn. The Huskies also held a 10-3 advantage in penalty corners.
The last time the Huskies faced the BSU Cardinals was on Aug. 28, 2007, with a 2-1 Northeastern Victory. With today's win, NU is now 3-2 lifetime versus BSU.
Up next, the Huskies will face American Uninversity as part of the annual Terrapin Invitational, to be played at College Park in Maryland, on Saturday Sept. 8 at 1 p.m.
