The Huskies took a 4-2 loss to Towson at the Tigers' Johnny Unitas Stadium Sunday, dropping Northeastern to 7-7 overall and 1-3 in the CAA.
Towson got on the board early, Mariah Schuette beat NU goalkepper Colleen Duffy with a shot to the near post. The Huskies were not able to answer back, and the Tigers extended their lead when Katie DeFillipo got ahold of a loose ball and fired it in to give the Tigers a two goal cushion.
Senior co-captain Jillian Wilkes started to bring the Huskies back when she deflected a shot off of an NU penalty corner, and brought the Huskies to within one. However, Towson got a third goal before halftime from CAA standout Christina Boarman, and returned the lead to two goals.
Kaela Barker scored for the Huskies in the second half off another deflection, this time off of a Jillian Wilkes ball.
NU would not score again, and Towson scored a fourth goal from Boarman in the final two minutes of the game.
The Huskies travel to Connecticut Oct 15 and Boston College Oct. 17 before returning home to continue their CAA slate with home games against Drexel Oct. 24 and Hofstra Oct. 26 at Sweeney Field.
