The Northeastern Unversity baseball team dropped a 5-1 decision to Delaware in game two of a doubleheader at Bob Hannah Stadium in Newark, Del. on Saturday afternoon. The Husky loss gave the Fightin' Blue Hens a 2-1 series win behind a strong pitching performance from starter Brad Miller.
The lone Husky run came in the top of the sixth when sophomore center fielder Frank Compagnone and junior left fielder Mike Tamsin hit back-to-back doubles. Compagnone and Tamsin led the Huskies with two hits apeice in the game.
Freshman Les Williams started the game for the Huskies, but was touched for three runs in 3-1/3 innings pitched. Reigning CAA Pitcher of the Week Sheldon McDonald then gave up two runs in 3-2/3 innings of relief before senior Bobby Carrington tossed a perfect eighth.
The Huskies dropped to 7-6 on the season with the loss and 1-2 in the CAA. The Fightin' Blue Hens improved to 5-12 overall and 2-4 in the CAA.
