Petta in Sports Illustrated's "Faces in the Crowd"

Freshman forward Devin Petta appears in the Oct. 19 issue of Sports Illustrated. Petta is highlighted in SI's "Faces in the Crowd" section for her hat trick in Northeastern's win over Drexel and her conference-leading 26 points. She is now second in the nation in scoring among freshmen.

Petta leads both Northeastern and the CAA with a 10-6-26 scoring line that includes the three goals she tallied against Drexel on Sept. 24. In an elapsed time of 4:04, Petta scored three goals, including the game winner. The hat trick was the fastest in school history, and her first two goals, scored 26 seconds apart, were the fastest two scored by an individual Northeastern player.

Petta scored five points in last weekend's two matches, including a goal and two assists in the 4-3 double overtime win against William & Mary. She leads the team in goals, assists, shots and game-winning goals.

The Huskies are 8-3-2 (3-1-2 CAA) as they take to the road this weekend, playing Georgia State in Georgia on Friday, before traveling to UNC Wilmington on Sunday. They are ranked fifth in this week's NSCAA Mid-Atlantic region poll.
