The men's rowing team finished 10th overall, fourth in the Petite Final, at the IRA Regatta in Sacramento, Calif. Saturday afternoon.
The Huskies covered the 2000-meter course in 6:04.71, finishing behind Wisconsin (5:55.96), Syracuse (5:59.30) and Cornell (6:02.33) but ahead of Columbia (6:07.55) and Dartmouth (6:12.55).
With competition tight throughout the race, the Huskies tried to make their move at the 1500-meter mark but it was not enough to overtake Cornell. Last year NU finished fourth overall.
Earlier in the day, the freshman crew took third in the Petite Final with a time of 6:09.33, behind Princeton (6:04.61) and Syracuse (6:05.16). Last year the freshman boat finished ninth overall.
The varsity 4 boat won its Petite Final, finishing in 6:44.12, ahead of Brown (6:49.10), FIT (6:50.53), Yale (6:52.77), Loyola (6:55.18) and Drexel (6:57.53).
