Evans scored a game-high 29 points. Kim Carr led Northeastern with 16 points and 12 rebounds while Brittany Wilson added 12 points.

The Huskies jumped out to a commanding 22-6 lead in the first half, using balanced scoring as six different Huskies scored in the opening push. Northeastern was able to keep James Madison at bay for the start of the second half, but a jumper from JMU's Lauren Jimenez and a two threes from Evans cut the lead to two at 42-40 with 11:09 remaining.

The Huskies extended the lead back out to eight points off a jumper from Carr, but James Madison was able to get to the free throw line and convert its attempts to keep it a one possession game. On the ensuing possession, Wilson turned the ball over for the Huskies and Williams hit the three pointer that gave the Dukes their first lead of the game. The Huskies regained the lead off a Jamie Conroy jumper, but Evans put the dagger in Northeastern's chances by hitting a three with 1:46 on the clock to help JMU on a 9-1 run to end the game, spoiling Northeastern attempt to gain its first win ever over the Dukes.

Both teams shot just 36 percent for the game while James Madison held a 43-38 rebounding advantage for the contest.
