Huskies nipped by Boston College, 2-1

Box score

NEWTON, Mass. –
Despite Annie Clayman's second goal of the season, the Huskies were unable to overcome a high-powered Boston College attack, as Northeastern dropped a 2-1 decision to the No. 10 Eagles.

The Huskies capitalized on one of their three penalty corners at the 13:14 mark of the first half when Clayman was able to beat BC goaltender Kristine Stigas to knot the game at 1-1.

The Eagles scored first when Janna Anctil tipped a Paige Norris pass past sophomore goaltender Lizzie Priest (four saves) at the 7:08 mark.

After Clayman's answer, Tilly Brampton gave BC the lead again when she redirected Jacqui Moorfield's shot at the 21:08 mark of the first half.

The score remained at 2-1 for the rest of the affair, with Stigas finishing the game with four saves. BC outshot Northeasterm 9-6.

The Huskies return home to Sweeney Field on Monday, Oct. 18 when they host the Stanford Cardinal. First whistle is scheduled for 2 p.m. Fans can catch all the action on GoNU.TV
