New Hampshire senior midfielder Kara Connolly scored 4:06 into overtime to defeat Northeastern, 2-1, at Sweeney Field.

Junior midfielder Annie Clayman scored the lone goal for the Huskies, while sophomore goaltender Lizzie Priest made four saves.

Both teams played evenly throughout the contest. The Huskies outshot the Wildcats, 16-14, in the game, and only had one more penalty corner (8) than New Hampshire.

The Huskies got on the board first in the 11th minute when Clayman tipped in a centering feed from sophomore forward Nicky Graham for the 1-0 lead. It was Clayman's first marker of the season.

New Hampshire responded just over two minutes later when freshman midfielder Casey Pohlmeyer struck a rebound past Priest to even the score, 1-1.

The game remained a draw through regulation, though the Huskies had several chances in the waning minutes. Northeastern registered the first shot of the overtime frame, and junior midfielder Carolyn Malloy just missed giving the Huskies a thrilling victory in the extra session.

The Huskies will look to rebound on Friday, Oct. 8 when they travel to Towson. Game time is set for 6 p.m.
