Jett led a balanced scoring effort for the Billikens (5-5), who had four players score in double figures. Junior guard Paul Eckerle notched 11 points and forwards Brian Conklin and Dwayne Evans chipped in 10 points each. Sophomore forward Cody Ellis pulled down six boards and freshman guard Mike McCall had four assists. Conklin blocked two shots.

McCall hit a jumper to put St. Louis up 8-6 with 12:10 to go in the first half, kicking off a spurt of five unanswered points for the Billikens.
The Huskies came back to tie the game with their own 5-0 run. Smith dished to Pierson for a jumper and on the next possession, Smith knocked down a three to even the score at 15-15 with 5:56 left in the first half, but St. Louis followed with a 7-0 run to regain the lead.
Smith hit a pair of free throws before the half to cut the Billikens' lead to 22-17 at the break and the Huskies never recovered in the second and were unable to get back within five.
After both sides shot 33.3 percent from the field in the first half, the Billikens were on fire in the second, shooting 19-of-29 (65.5 percent) from the field to the Huskies' 11-of-29 (37.9 percent). A stingy St. Louis defense forced 17 Northeastern turnovers and scored 25 points off turnovers and the Billikens held a 29-28 edge in rebounding.
The Huskies continue in the Cancun Governor's Cup on Thursday, facing the loser of the quarterfinal matchup between East Tennessee State and Southern Mississippi at noon (ET) in Cancun, Mexico.
