Huskies Set For CAA First Round Vs. North Carolina A&T Friday

BOSTON – It's tournament time for the Northeastern men's basketball team, which travels to Washington, D.C. this weekend for the 2026 Air Force Reserve CAA Men's Basketball Championship. The Huskies will take on No. 12 seed North Carolina A&T in the First Round matchup on Friday at 2 p.m. on FloCollege, with the winner advancing to take on No. 5 seed Drexel on Saturday.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW

1. NORTHEASTERN IN THE CAA CHAMPIONSHIP

The Huskies are making their 21st appearance in the CAA Championship, and are 21-18 all-time in the conference tournament. Northeastern has won two CAA championships in 2015 and 2019, while head coach Bill Coen is 19-17 in the conference tournament during his 19 years at Northeastern. He is the winningest coach in CAA Championship history.

2. SERIES HISTORY VS. NORTH CAROLINA A&T
Northeastern and North Carolina A&T will be meeting for the fifth time, with the Huskies holding a 3-1 advantage in the series. NU picked up an 85-74 win earlier this season in Greensboro behind 22 points apiece from William Kermoury and Xavier Abreu.

3. DOUBLE 'EM UP
William Kermoury recorded his first career double-double with 13 points and a career-high 13 rebounds at Hampton on Feb. 28. He's the seventh different Husky (Xavier Abreu, Xander Alarie, Haris Elezovic, Ty Francis, Youri Fritz, Luca Soroa Schaller) to record a double-double this season, the most for the team in more than 15 years.
