Senior guard Jordan Miller scored 16 points to lead Furman to a 75-62 win over the Northeastern men's basketball team in the consolation game of the UCF Holiday Classic on Thursday afternoon at UCF Arena in Orlando, Fla. Sophomore guard

Miller posted his 16 points on 6-of-10 shooting from the field and 4-of-6 shooting from beyond the arc. He also had three assists for the Paladins (9-3). Junior forward Brandon Sebirumbi added 13 points and senior forward Amu Saaka had 10 points and eight rebounds.
The Paladins scored the first six points of the game, five of which came from Sebirumbi before Bates put in a layup for the Huskies.
With Furman up by five midway through the first half, Smith knocked down a three for Northeastern and Black followed with a layup to tie the score at 16-16 with 7:55 to go in the first half. Miller answered for the Paladins with a three and a layup to restore Furman's five-point lead, but Smith came back with a layup and freshman guard
Alex Harris completed a traditional three-point play to level the score at 21-21. Miller once again accounted for five straight Furman points to give the Paladins a 26-21 lead with five minutes left in the first half.
That kicked off a 16-2 Furman run before a last-minute bucket by Lee cut the Paladins' lead to 37-25 at halftime. The Huskies were plagued by cold shooting to begin the second half and were unable to draw within nine.
Northeastern shot 38.8 percent (19-of-49) in the game while Furman went 44.4 percent (24-of-54) from the field. The Paladins outrebounded the Huskies by a 42-25 margin, including 18 offensive boards that led to 27 second-chance points for Furman.
The Huskies now return to conference play in the Colonial Athletic Association, facing James Madison on Monday at 7 p.m. in Harrisonburg, Va.
